EYFS Pirate Day

An 'arr'some day was had on Thursday as EYFS held a Pirate Day to consolidate our learning based on pirates. We learnt about some famous pirates from the past, found out our pirate names, learnt some pirate phrases, made eye patches, pirate hats, telescopes, 'walked the plank', learnt the song 'The Day I Went to Sea' and a sea shanty based on The Wellerman, used pirate role play and small world. We also learnt about hardtack and made our own shortbread-based versions - with many having second servings!
