Year 6 London Visit

On Tuesday this week, Year 6 had a fantastic visit to London. Their first stop was the Houses of Parliament. After an introduction to parliament and a quick history lesson, they took a tour of the Palace of Westminster and took a seat in the House of Lords only a week after the King had visited. The children learned about democracy in the UK, the role of MPs and peers, how laws are made and how they could get involved in politics.

Following this, it was a quick walk across Westminster Bridge before arriving at SeaLife London Aquarium. This was the perfect opportunity for the children to consolidate all the learning they had done in their Awesome Oceans topic. It was a very long and tiring day (in no small part due to the traffic jams on the way home), but the children had a great day out, which I am sure they will remember for a long time.
