Year 3 Visit Colchester Castle

As a spectacular start to Year 3’s Roman Empire topic, the class visited Colchester Castle on Monday. On their visit they learned all about the Roman invasion of Camulodunum (Colchester). They built models of Roman villas and iron age roundhouses, before exploring the Temple of Claudius on which the castle is built. A great day was had by all and the children are now very eager to learn more about the Roman Empire which is central to the history of Colchester.
