Year 3 Stone Age Day Experience

Year 3 took part in a Stone Age Day this week. They were met by Memma, the Stone Age woman in the woodland, who seemed like she didn't speak any English. She was very surprised to see lots of children in the woodland. After figuring out we spoke English, she invited us all into her camp and showed us all the amazing Stone Age objects she had; including animal skins, tools, animal skulls and cooking equipment. The children then learnt to defeather a pigeon, make a fire from flint and cook the pigeon on the fire. Most children had a chance of tasting the pigeon and to everyone's surprise it was a massive hit! We finished the day completing some Stone Age jobs for Memma and having a walk around the woodland. The day was a huge success and a great way to begin our Stone Age topic!
