Year 1 Awesome Arctic

Year 1 enjoyed their visit from the Arctic explorer this week. He showed us all the equipment he needs to take with him on his expeditions and shared lots of photographs of the animals he saw. He told us that he got bitten on the finger by a lemming and that a frightened polar bear ran straight through the wall of a cabin! We then went outside and played a pirate’s treasure game on a map, using compass points. Then we used a map of the Key Stage 2 playground to find hidden flags with letter clues. It was a very interesting and enjoyable morning – we would love to visit the Arctic for ourselves!
