Writing Parent & Child Workshop

On Wednesday, we held our first Writing Parent and Child Workshop.  The event was fully booked, with parents learning about some of the ways we teach writing at Kendall, as well as some strategies and tips to support writing at home.  This  included learning about 'shades of meaning', 'holding sentences' and WAGOLLs.  The children, with their parents, took their 'mini-me' on an adventure in the small woodlands, thinking carefully about the senses and writing descriptive words, phrases and sentences to take back to the studio.  Once in the studio, the children worked with their grown-up to write a descriptive piece, describing the adventure using the senses.  These were then recorded and animated in 'Puppet Pals' as a digital literacy piece.  Thank you to all attendees, we hope you enjoyed the experience and we look forward to hosting more workshops in the future!
