Children in EYFS are set variable homework through Tapestry. Children in Years 1 to 6 are set the following homework weekly.
Reading: At least 5 reads at home each week. At KS2 children can write at least one sentence in their diary about what they have read. This is to encourage and develop comprehension skills whilst they read. All children who complete 5 reads will be entered into our weekly reading raffle which runs Friday to Friday.
All other homework is set on a Monday and needs to be completed by the following Monday.
Times Table Rockstars: The children are expected to complete 5x1min sessions per week. Their login details can be found on the inside cover of their Home School Diary. Obviously, the more sessions they complete the more confident they will become in maths lessons at school. There is no upper limit to what can be completed!
Weekly spellings: Set on a Monday and words will be tested the following Monday. It is essential that these words are practised throughout the week at home.
Non-Fiction: In addition to their book banded reading book, children at KS1 will choose a picture book/non-fiction and children at KS2 will choose a non-fiction book of their choice to bring home each week to share with you. These books do not count as one of their 5 reads, but you are encouraged to take time to read it with your child for pleasure.
