Year 6 Ancient Maya Day

On Tuesday, Year 6 were fully immersed into the world of the Ancient Maya during their Maya experience day with Vanessa. They became archaeologists and learnt how to excavate and analyse the artefacts found. They found out about the plants and animals found in the Maya rainforests and their important role for this civilisation. Traditional foods and hot chocolate were tasted and enjoyed (by most!). They even tried on some of the clothing that the Ancient Maya would have worn too. It was a really engaging day that rounded off perfectly such a fascinating topic for this quarter.
