Year 6 London Visit

On Tuesday, the Year 6 class left school at 5.45am to embark on an exciting trip to London, to see some famous sites, and visit the Houses of Parliament and the London Aquarium. The children learned all about how democracy in the UK works while having a guided tour of the Houses of Parliament. The children got to see where the House of Lords approves new laws and where the King sits when he visits parliament. The children even got to use the royal entrance! Unfortunately, the House of Commons was sitting so we couldn’t go in that room, but we got a really good feel for the building in a normal working day.

After a quick lunch we visited the London Aquarium where we saw all manner of sea creatures from tiny polyps to huge sharks. We spent some time sketching what we saw swimming around in the huge Atlantic and Pacific tanks.
